I've been searching for my TRUE LOVE
I have gone on my knees and I prayed to my God Above
For someone whose compatible
Who believes with God that All things are possible
Not for long, this person came along just like we were meant to be
And the way our minds connects, i knew this love is real
I'm So Happy!!!
This one na serious LOVE NWANTINTIN!!!
This kind love this kind love, wey dey make me wonder!!!
This kind love, this kind love, wey dey last forever!!!!
I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU not another
This kind love ohh, na serious Love Nwantintin!!!
We have journeyed through thick and thin
And all of this time i realise something
That my friends dey envy me
My parents blessing me
This is REALITY!!!!
And i promise, i will love you for the rest of my life
I will always be there for you, be the very best wife
I'm so HAPPY!!!
This one na serious LOVE NWANTINTIN!!!!!!
This kind love this kind love, wey dey make me wonder!!!
This kind love, this kind love, wey dey last forever!!!!
I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU not another
This kind love ohh, na serious Love Nwantintin!!!
- Omawunmi
Hearing this song for the first time, i couldn't help but fall in LOVE!. Lets just say Nollywood did not fail to deliver in HOUSE OF GOLD, because that's one Nigerian movie that has had me feeling all kinds of ways since ITORO( if you haven't watched it yet, i can tell you now, you are dulling on a bicycle, get involved!).Basically the storyline to which the song came in was just H'amazing, giving me goosebumps and all that lovey dovey stuff (not to miss out the fact that it featured Majid Michael *sigh*, he seemed so vulnerable!... lol).
Just to re-cap( for those who haven't seen it) and to relieve the moment in my head, Majid played the single eldest son, who so happened to be single and a hottie( for jara), anyway he goes out one day and the maid comes to clean his room, she starts singing( this omawunmi's song above), so overwhelmed and totally feeling herself she breaks into a performance, using her broom as her microphone feeling all SUPERSTAR and unconsciously wears her Oga's (Majid's) shades and hat ( she get am for liver) to properly get in the zone, shaking her waist and totally belting it out word for word Majid walks in on her, totally oblivious to the fact that someone's walked in the room, not to talk of it being her boss, this girl is still going strong. On the other hand he( majid) is so taken aback by her. Feeling mesmerised and lovestruck he commends her singing/ dancing skills and la di dah, however she is in a state of utter shock ( consistently apologising and begging him not to report her) she drops his glasses on the table and tries to leave the room( still with his hat on her head) but he stops her collects it from her grinning sheepishly at her whilst she makes way for the quickest exit out of the room. Long story short, he totally falls for her, woos hers and gets the girl, eventually.....
This was the beginning of my love affair with this LOVE NWANTINTIN! song.
Present day now, as you all know lovers day is round the corner and everybody is either Val-ing someone, gathering up the courage to ask someone to be their Val, or waiting patiently to be Val-ed, a.k.a ME!, a proud member of the Singles Association Society(SAS), applications are being accepted, don't be shy!, as @Enibaby4 would say "I no dey FORBID!"(unless you're the 5 Naira type of brother, that type I'm not interested in..lol).
Love is circulating the air and let's just say I've been struck down by the "Lovebug!".
As of the recent 24hrs, I've been listening to many love songs and not just because valentine's day is around the corner, I love love songs, they make me feel all giddy and mushy inside and I'll like to think I'm a big ROMANTIC. Nonetheless, I've had love songs on constant replay, and not just any love song, Nigerian love songs, a.k.a Afro-beats. *Confession Time* I love for Afro-beats!, so much so that i was at one point questioned (when in Nigeria last year for my sister's wedding) if i well and truly lived in the UK or if I was just lying and had been living in Aba all this while, because i literally was belting it out lyric for lyric, every song that came on in the car... lol (what can I say Nigerian music has that effect on me). Sha-Sha (means "anyway" for those not familiar with the naija lingo), my Nigerian artiste's haven't let me down this Valentine season, as love songs are just flying off the shelves everyday and I'm loving it!!!!. To say the least, Nigerian men have the sweetest tongue in life(they're like a special breed of men) because the way they will serenade you with loving words, it is enough to take you to Heaven's Gates and make you want to just surrender,Chale!.
I can truly say when God was distributing talents, it was the one of the top ones that Nigerian men lined up for, amongst their many other talents because with the like's of Timi Dakolo, Dr Sid, Lynxx, Flavour N'abania,Banky W, Brymo,Davido, Wizkid, Sojay, Bez, BOJ,Praiz,E.L, Wande coal and many others that are yet to be discovered,my heart is unfolding like an onion, layer by layer.Notwithstanding, I must say this, added to my list of attributes of a fella, he MUST have a fantastic singing voice as I would like to be serenaded every morning and every minute *daydreaming*, Oh Dear God, this is my heart desire...
In my final words, I will agree to the notion that our women are not dulling on a bicycle and have equally not minced their words when expressing their demand for love and the giving of it, holding it down for the laydeez are my faithful Omawunmi, Waje, Chidinma and Tiwa Tiwa, to name a few.
Having said all this I feel so sorry for my music player because its about to be worked wellah, my most played love songs include:
